Margeaux Smith is a PhD candidate in Curriculum & Teaching at Baylor University and will graduate in the Summer of 2026. She is interested in mathematics education, specifically authenticity, student experiences, and how the purposes of high school mathematics are negotiated in classrooms. The valuable relationships she has built with mentors and peers through her program and professional organizations inspire her interest in serving in the role of a graduate student representative. This role would not only allow her to serve and advocate for graduate students, but also promote graduate students finding community within the larger organization.
